What is a Georgia Wonder house concert?

We come and play a private one-off concert IN YOUR HOUSE. Could be your living room, dining room, outhouse, pub-shed or garage - anywhere you can get a group of people to comfortably enjoy a couple of hours of live music. How often do you get the chance for a live band to play in your living room? We'd imagine not very often! It's a special Georgia Wonder concert for you and your invited guests. It's intimate, personal and unique and we think it's a great way for people to connect and re-connect with live music.

There's a lot going for house concerts - you can always get a drink, there's never a queue to get in or out, you can have breaks whenever you want, you can ask us to sing a song again that you particularly like and if you don't know some of the people they're probably very nice just like you simply because your host invited them.

Hosting, People and Payment

Think you fancy a bit of Georgia Wonder in your home? Read on.

You need to provide an audience of at least 20 people for your house concert. We would prefer 30+ but we realise this is sometimes not possible - but if you have the space go for it! Don't forget, it's your responsibility as the host to get this minimum amount of guests - we will take care of the musical entertainment!

We ask for donations of around £10 per person to be collected by the host (or the host's assistant / other half) before we start the show. That way we (and you) don't have to worry about it afterwards and it's a lot easier to get cash off people when they walk in and stops any mixups happening during or after the show.

At the end of the concert we will also be selling merchandise including signed CDs, so please make sure your guests bring enough cash with them - it's amazing how excited people get when they see bright shiny stuff to buy after a concert!

Food and Drink

At house concerts we've given in the past either the host has prepared food in advance (being good at that kind of thing) or they've asked everyone to 'bring a plate' of something they've made. Pretty much without exception each house concert we've done has been a 'bring your own booze' affair. We've always been surprised at just how much effort people have put in when they bring food and we feel it really helps the community atmosphere when everyone has 'mucked in'. If anything it's a good excuse to try your new cake out on everyone!
